IMPACT provides chickens and goats to families at risk of malnutrition throughout Nepal to provide a vital source of nutrition and income.
IMPACT Nepal works in some of the most impoverished communities in Rautahat District implementing a programme of action to prevent and treat needless disability and prevent poverty .
Chickens and goats are distributed as part of IMPACT Nepals’ Safer Motherhood programme. Families that are headed by a woman, have a disabled member or have little to no income are prioritised.
Eggs from the chickens and milk from the goats will boost the diets of families at risk from malnutrition, and any surplus generates income for healthcare and school fees.
