Flooding in Cambodia

Extreme rainfall has caused widespread flooding across Cambodia. According to local reports, seasonal rains had been exacerbated by a tropical storm, which caused flash floods in several provinces in the first week of October.

Our trusted partner IMPACT Cambodia works in several Provinces that have been badly affected by the ongoing flooding. In Banteay Meanchey, Health Centres are under water and hundreds of people have been evacuated from their homes.

Funds are urgently needed to distribute warm clothing, blankets, emergency food and hygiene packs to families who have been displaced.

As ever, frontline health workers continue to support the most vulnerable members of their communities, putting themselves at great risk. Health Centres are in desperate need of medicines and medical supplies as well as to establish mobile clinics, which are being set up in make shift camps in the dry, upper ground.

So far, IMPACT Cambodia has provided emergency support to 350 families who have had to leave their homes in Banteay Meanchey Province.

Care packages include warm clothing, blankets, emergency food and hygiene packs. A gift of £12 provides emergency assistance to another family
