Accessible surgery

Surgery is sometimes the only way to treat a disabling condition but the poorest people in the countries where IMPACT works have no hope of accessing it

43

Restores sight, hearing or mobility

IMPACT 'takes the hospital to the people', making surgery available to people who need operations to reverse disabling conditions

Early identification & treatment

Identifying illnesses in their earliest stages can avert a lifetime of disability, suffering and poverty. But in developing countries, accessing healthcare is rarely straightforward

20

Provides a school with a medical kit

IMPACT empowers people with skills and knowledge to improve health and widen access to immunisation

Safer motherhood and child survival

In Africa and Asia, complications relating to pregnancy and birth are the leading cause of death for women of reproductive age. Medical care before, during and after birth saves lives

200

Provides maternal healthcare

IMPACT improves the diets of expectant mothers; provides regular check-ups during pregnancy and beyond; and trains Traditional Birth Attendants

Safer water & sanitation

In the absence of clean water and sanitation recurrent disease and poverty have a stronghold. Clean water and basic sanitation is essential for good health and underpins everything IMPACT does

55

Provides a family with safe water

Young Girl from Zanzibar drinking safe clean water

IMPACT improves access to safe water and sanitation to stop the spread of deadly waterborne diseases

Ending malnutrition

Whilst some people are obese, others are wasted or stunted. This 'double burden of malnutrition' affects every country across the globe

25

Provides a family with a home garden

Mother and young boy tending a vegetable garden

Through grassroots action, IMPACT is committed to preventing malnutrition in all its forms

Health education & training

Knowledge is power. When people know how to take action to improve their health, they can make positive changes that benefit the whole family

100

Trains a local health worker

IMPACT empowers people and communities with skills and knowledge to improve health. We also widen access to immunisation
